The Literary Taxidermy Short Story Competition asks writers to take the first and last lines of a classic work of fiction and then use those lines as the beginning and ending of a new, original story.
This year, participants have a choice of Toni Morrison’s Beloved and Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World. NO GENRE REQUIREMENTS. Everything's fair game: science fiction, fantasy, agitprop, poetry, mystery, romance, hyper-realism, magical-realism, plain-old realism….
Join us for our third year!
Monetary and publication awards. Less than two weeks to go!
The competition concludes on 4 June 2020.
